Many people tell me that they shred their own stuff in house or at home. I would like to persuade you otherwise. I used to own a personal strip cut shredder in my house. I can tell you I will never use it again; not just because I can shred my stuff at Rocky Mountain Document Destruction (RMDD) but because the security risk of that type of shred. There is a program that I stumbled upon called “unshredder” what it does is scans the shredded paper and puts it back together into the original document. Anyone can buy this program for fairly cheap then when they see a bag full of shred they grab it and use the program to possibly steal your identification.
Another factor is that you have the chain of custody of who is shredding and that the documents are secure at all times. RMDD shreds the paper by background checked and drug tested employees. The paper is taken directly from the customer to the mobile truck where it is shredded onsite. The customer is even able to watch as their vital documents are destroyed. After the paper is shredded it is taken to RMDD’s parent company, Rocky Mountain Recycling, where it is baled up with thousands of pounds of other shred and recycled into new paper.
